I don't know about you but I am soooo tired of receiving that little bundle of candy-covered almonds at weddings. They either end up in the trash or eaten, any memories of that wedding fading within a few weeks. So when my husband and I planned our wedding we wanted people to walk away with something they could and would remember. There are a few things you should know:
- We got married very close to Halloween and wanted the event to relate to the holiday.
- I have always loved the masquerade scene in the movie Labyrinth.
- I didn't want any gore in our wedding pictures.
The solution was pretty simple and definitely time-consuming. I decided to create keepsake masks for our guests to wear at the wedding. I created 75 masks. Each mask came with a story card glued inside explaining how the mask related to my husband and I. The masks are about movies we like, artists we admire, things we are into, things that we are afraid of, designs we have done, where we are from, places we have traveled to and more.
